What is currently The Complete Chronicles is now set to be book 3 of a 7-book series called Legends of the Nameless Dwarf. All the material preceding the original stories will now be shown in two prequel novels: CARNIFEX and NAMELESS. The series is being represented by Fuse Literary. Book 4 is already written, and book 1 is progressing apace. One has him team up with Shadrak the Unseen. I suppose this story (provisionally titled "The Nameless Dwarf wants You") continues the story of the Chronicles. There are some threads from Bane of the Liche Lord it picks up, as well as some of Shadrak's unfinished business from the Shader books.

Nameless also features heavily in the Shader series books 3-5 (book 5 is called "Rise of the Nameless Dwarf")derekpriorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03880545636783519694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2920313594612826087.post-85247998201168609472014-06-29T07:14:17.683-04:002014-06-29T07:14:17.683-04:00This book is a great addition to the first law ser...This book is a great addition to the first law series. The Unweaving is up to 90,000 words. Progress slowed down a lot due to me being inundated with editing commissions. I'm currently working on it Saturday mornings. I expect the redrafting will be finished late this year. I'm approaching the last leg of the story, which, apart from the denouement, is probably the simplest part to write. The editing will take a little while as I'm re-editing the first two books at the same time in preparation for the trilogy edition. There will be a few additions to book 1 plus a number of new illustrations. derekpriorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03880545636783519694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2920313594612826087.post-63915646425142396472013-10-02T10:38:19.887-04:002013-10-02T10:38:19.887-04:00Really enjoyed the first 2 Shader books. I think it's essential for the writer to have a very clear picture of their own world -- to know it as fully as they can -- but then to reveal it a bit at a time to the reader. The reader only needs to see what's relevant to the story in hand and what the point of view character sees, but it adds to the illusion if the reader trusts the author to know all the other details. It's therefore important that what is revealed is consistent from scene to scene, and that the characters interact with the environment as well as each other. In terms of how much to show the reader, I generally agree that less is more.derekpriorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03880545636783519694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2920313594612826087.post-2907049763460376722013-01-27T11:52:00.778-05:002013-01-27T11:52:00.778-05:00When I first started writing, I spent too much tim...When I first started writing, I spent too much time writing things down. By my second book I worked solely off the computer and relied on notes or thoughts that I kept as a guideline. The more I write the easier the thought process is. I have learned that less is more and surprise draws readers into the story, and while I am a descriptive writer; that itself comes from the genre. I write fantasy/fiction and the times and places are not real. Therefore in order for the reader to become involved with the perspective characters they need to see the world I created. I think Mr. Martin set out to use all the standard tropes of fantasy fiction, in a completely different way. There are dragons, the children of the forest are kind of like elves, and instead of a race of dwarves he gave us Tyrion, a very human little person.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14273003213849336715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2920313594612826087.post-55523639641873641592012-09-13T00:51:27.207-04:002012-09-13T00:51:27.207-04:00Map by Jared Blando: http://theredepic.comMap by Jared Blando: http://theredepic.comderekpriorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03880545636783519694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2920313594612826087.post-2890970651732127232012-09-07T01:58:00.546-04:002012-09-07T01:58:00.546-04:00I may put a few shorts up on KDP but the novels an...I may put a few shorts up on KDP but the novels and novellas are coming down.
